Naturtex — Thread with Purpose.
Naturtex stands at the crossroads of two rich textile traditions: the industrial color innovation of early 20th-century New York and the timeless craftsmanship of Peru’s pre-Columbian heritage. We highlight ancestral Andean fibers, organic cotton and alpaca, in their rare, natural, undyed colors and with colors obtained from natural plants sourced by indigenous artisans conserving heirloom recipes.
Founded by American archaeologist Dr. James M. Vreeland, Jr., Naturtex was born from decades of fieldwork and a profound respect for Peru’s regenerative agriculture and ancient textile arts. His early research was instrumental in the revival of native cotton cultivation for sustainable fashion sourcing.
Today, we cultivate long-term partnerships with farming and artisan communities, blending indigenous knowledge with certified organic standards to create quality sustainable Peruvian textiles that are not only environmentally conscious, but also storied, authentic, and timeless.
With Immerse, you’re invited to go deeper, visiting the regenerative farms and communities where our organic cotton is grown and meeting the people who naturally dye and process our fibers. These ethical textile sourcing tours in Peru connect you to the origin of sustainable Peruvian textiles.
Whether you’re curious about our techniques, interested in volunteering, or eager to see what ethical sourcing really means, don’t watch, connect!
